An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
Despite the miracles of modern medicine, we are not a healtheir society than ever before. More people than ever are suffering from conditions such as:
|*constipation and diarrhea
||*dependency on laxatives
|*low back pain
||*lower resistance to infections
||*general aches and pains
||*irritable bowel syndrome
In the united states, we spend over four hundred million dollars per year on laxatives alone. Seventy million of us have bowel problems. One hundred thousand of us have colostomies every year. Colon cancer is the second leading cancer related killer on record.
The American cancer society suggests that the increase in bowel cancer is due to pesticides and germicides sprayed on our crops, hormones and antibiotics fed to our livestock, and carcinogenic agents found in the air that we breathe and the water that we drink. Our colons can become a welcoming home for these types of toxins.
Why is this happening to us? What can we do to prevent these conditions before hey become conditions?
The answer lies in the large intestine, or the colon. The colon is a hollow tube of muscle that spans about five feet long and is about two inches in diameter. The colon is the last segment of the alimentary, or digestive tract. It serves as a final phase of digestion in which fecal matter, or waste, is compacted; water and vitamins are absorbed into the blood stream, and the remaining undigested proteins are converted into amino acids.
These events occur as the colon moves in a wave like motion called peristalsis to push matter along. Normal peristaltic movements can be blocked from a variety of reasons. A typical American diet of flour, dairy products, meat, processed foods, sugar, and preservatives will cause fecal matter to build up in the colon . In fact, most people are carrying several pounds of dried up fecal matter impacted in thier colons. Furthermore, laxatives may cause atrophy of the muscle and perpetuate the cycle that they are supposed to end.
As this stagnant fecal matter builds up in the colon, the colon will act as a sieve to allow toxins and bacteria to escape through the colon and enter into the blood stream, just as food and vitamins normally would. Once these toxins are blood born, they are free to travel throughout the body and cause chaos and destruction to all the body’s system causing symptoms such as the ones listed above.
So what can be done to prevent this? What is the magical “ounce of prevention” in these cases?
Many people are re-discovering colon hydrotherapy or colonics.
This type of irrigation, or colon hydrotherapy has existed for thousands of years. This therapy dates back to approximately 1500 BC as it was first recorded in ancient Egyptian documents. It is also mentioned in the writings of the Sumerians, Chinese, Hindus, Greeks, and Romans. Later Egyptian knowledge from Herodotus (484-425 BC) discussed a monthly 3 day cleansing. Until the rise of the pharmaceutical industry, colon hydrotherapy was an important part of most hospital wellness protocols.
Today colon hydrotherapy is a gentle flushing of water into the clon in order to re-introduce normal peristalsis movement while simultaneously washing out toxic material. A colon hydrotherapy session lasts about an hour in duration, and it is the continuous bathing of the large intestine (colon) in order to release and cleanse the organ by removing the impacted feces, parasites, trapped intestinal gas, and cellular debris which would otherwise escape the colon and circulate the body through the blood stream.
During your therapy session, you will be attended to by one of our trained, certified, and licensed therapists.
